How do we define losers?
Are losers the ones who have failed in exams, interviews, or life?
It’s time to change the perspective, thanks to TVF Aspirants.
Successful Failure
What are the social responsibilities of a failure?
Can that person inspire somebody despite being a loser?
I used to prepare for CAT in an institute where most of the teachers were great.
I used to wonder why they are not in IIMs already instead of here.
One of them told us one day that he tried thrice but couldn’t crack IIM.
The moment he spoke those words, the students were skeptical about how a loser can guide us crack IIMs.
The same scenario came alive on my mobile screen today as I was watching TVF’s new series, The Aspirants.
The series, TVF Aspirants, talks about the lives and struggles of UPSC aspirants in India.
One of the teachers of the Institute told the students that he gave up after three times as UPSC is touted to be the second toughest exam in the World.
The protagonist, Abhilash, became so skeptical about the institute that he went on to get his fees refunded.
His approach changed when he attended a guest seminar where an IAS officer was sharing her experiences during her preparation time.
During her lecture, she gave all the credit for her success to that teacher.
She narrated a story that was once narrated by him while she was preparing.
The Ceramic Teacher Experiment
There was a Ceramic Teacher in the US.
Once he did an experiment.
He divided his students into two groups.
One group was instructed to make a pot in 7 days.
The other group was instructed to make as many as they can in the same timeline.
After 7 days, the result came and it was shocking.
Everybody expected the first group would excel as they have got seven days to do a single pot.
They would not make any stones unturned to make it a perfect one.
Instead, the second group did a much better job with quantity and quality.
They made mistakes and learned from them and applied that for the next pot.
A loser can be the best guide
Losers can guide you better than an achiever.
A winner can tell you what to do.
A loser can tell you what not to do.
