We all know the reason behind this Pandemic, right?
Not, you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to guess the reasons.
Well, everybody knows the reason.
We just don’t want to discuss them. Rather, we discuss the bodycounts.
Maybe in the near or far future, we get over this Pandemic with the help of vaccines.
What happens then?
We go back to normalcy.

What if there are other micro-killers out there to annihilate us?

Now, we are paying the hefty price by burning the pyres of our near and dear ones.
Are we trying enough to stop another deadly pandemic from happening?

Deforestation
The over-population and the industrialisation need for the expansion of civilisation. This leads to cutting down of an alarming no. of trees every year.
According to Reference.com, 900 million trees are cut every year, which comes down to 2.47 million trees every day.
The data is alarming and scary enough to creep you out.
The thing that gives us shades, oxygen and food are being uprooted, seriously?
Are we still eligible enough to be called the most intelligent species in the world?
We doubt.
Wildfires
2019 and 2020 have seen massive wildfires in Amazon and Australia respectively. The climate activists have shown their shown their serius concern over this incidents, marking them as reminders of mayhem.
The Govt. agencies were not that worried though. Several NGOs have blamed Brazillian Govt for the wildfire.
Their pro-business approach has cost us a mammoth 2,240,000 acres of Amazon Rainforest. A whopping 2.3 million animal were killed in the wildfire.
Australian Bushfire has caused the death of 3 billion animals including koalas, kangaroos and other Australian native animals. A massive 25 million acres of land have been destroyed.
India and California experience bushfires on a regular basis.
The facts are scary.
Animal Species Extinction
The aggressive expansion of himan civilization often results into human-animal conflict. Deforestation and pollution are the two biggest factors behind biodiversity crisis.
According to WWF, there are approximately 2 million different species on the planet.
The extinction rate is 0.01% to 0.1% every year which sums up to approximately 20 to 2000 extinctions occur every year.
The intrusion of human civilization into forestland invites for more viral diseases, as per the scientists.
The parasites are finding human bodies as their hosts in the absence of other species.
The global warming is actively melting glaciers in north and south poles, exposing a huge number of viruses and bacterias, hidden under the snow.
Air Pollution
According to WHO, 4.2 million deaths happen every year due to outdoor pollution and 3.8 million deaths occur due to indoor pollution.
WHO also specifies that 91% of the world’s population live in places where air quality exceeds WHO guidelines.
Lung infection, asthma are becoming common diseases in the newborn children due to the exposure to polluted air.
Water Pollution
Earth is 70% water.
Water is life.
Still, at least 2 billion people use contaminated drinking water which causes 4,85,000 deaths every year.
785 million people globally lack basic drinking water service with 144 million people dependent on surface water.
The groundwater level is gradually depleting with every passing year as a result of illegal pumping. Waterbodies and ponds are being filled for construction purposes. This alone causes a massive water shortage.
One the other hand, almost half of the marine lives, including whales and dolphins, sea turtles and sea birds, feast on plastic. According to WWF, a massive 100,000 marine animals die every year as a result of plastic pollution.
The coral reefs in the oceanbeds are hugely affected by plastic.
Glacier Meltdown
Human activities such as industrial revolution, carbon dioxide and greenhouse gas emission have raised the temperature of the planet, melting down the glaciers at a rapid level.
95% of the oldest and thickest sea ice is almost gone.
Glaciers in Antarctica, Greenland and Himalayas are melting at a massive rate of 390 billion tons every year.
At the same time, sealevel is rising at a rate of 3.6 mm evey year.
The situation is alarming as the rapid water level rise can cause massive floods in coastal cities.
